A tragic accident occurred in an illegal stone mine in Malkangiri district, Odisha, when a landslide of soil and stones buried workers. Two laborers, identified as 21-year-old Tuna Gadba and 31-year-old Meetu Madhei, died in the incident. Another worker, Vijay Rao, sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment at Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital. The mine collapse happened while six laborers were digging soil and loading it onto a tractor.
