Anti-Terror Operation Trashi-I Underway in J&K's Kishtwar, Encounter Breaks Out
An encounter has erupted in Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir, as security forces launched a joint operation, 'Trashi-I,' against terrorists. The operation involves the Army's White Knight Corps, J&K Police, and CRPF. Security forces, acting on intelligence inputs about terrorist presence, cordoned off the Doolgam area in Kishtwar early Saturday. As forces approached suspected hideouts, terrorists opened fire, initiating the gunfight. Two to three terrorists, suspected to be from Jaish-e-Mohammed, are believed to be trapped. The entire area has been secured, and the operation is ongoing in the challenging, hilly terrain. Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma recently visited Kishtwar to review the counter-terrorism grid and operational preparedness, commending the ground commanders and troops involved in the sustained efforts.
