Bihar CM Recommends CBI Probe into NEET Aspirant's Suspicious Death in Patna
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has recommended that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) take over the investigation into the suspicious death of a NEET aspirant in Patna. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced the recommendation on social media, stating that the case requires a transparent and impartial inquiry. Choudhary described the incident as a 'murder.' The deceased was a student from Jehanabad preparing for NEET exams in a Patna girls' hostel. While initial police findings suggested suicide, the victim's family alleges foul play, citing the presence of sperm on the student's clothes discovered during forensic examination. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has collected 25 DNA samples for identification. The SIT is also examining the student's travel and digital history. The case, registered under the POCSO Act, remains unresolved.
