E-rickshaw Battery Explosion Kills Disabled Teacher in Madhya Pradesh
A 30-year-old disabled teacher tragically died in Sarani Nagar, Betul, Madhya Pradesh, after the battery of his e-rickshaw exploded and caught fire. The incident occurred near Jay Stambh Chowk. The teacher, identified as Sunil Kumar Lokhande, was unable to escape the vehicle as the fire rapidly engulfed it. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, including a technical examination of the vehicle. Sunil, who was living with a disability for about 15 years due to an illness during his engineering studies, earned a living through tuition classes. He had received the battery-operated e-rickshaw under a government scheme two and a half years ago. Despite efforts by bystanders to extinguish the flames, the fire intensified, preventing any rescue attempts. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and while the preliminary investigation points to a battery blast, the exact cause will be determined after the technical examination.
