Himachal Pradesh Under Orange Alert for Heavy Snowfall and Rain; Schools Closed in Affected Areas
Himachal Pradesh has issued Orange and Yellow alerts for multiple districts, anticipating heavy rain, snowfall, and strong winds. An Orange alert is in effect for Kullu, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Lahaul-Spiti, where significant precipitation is expected. Consequently, all educational institutions in Manali and Banjar sub-divisions of Kullu district were closed for Tuesday as a safety measure. A Yellow alert covers other districts like Shimla, Solan, and Kangra, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and winds up to 60 kmph. Cold wave conditions are also projected, with Tabo village in Lahaul-Spiti recording a low of -10.2 degrees Celsius.
