Six killed in Bihar road accident as truck hits auto

A speeding truck collided with an auto carrying people returning from the Maner Urs fair in Bihta, Patna, resulting in the deaths of six individuals. Two others were injured and have been admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The accident occurred near the Parev Lekhan Tola bridge in Bihta police station area. Police have seized the truck and arrested the driver. The victims, all residents of Bhojpur district, were returning from the fair late at night when the collision took place. The impact was so severe that the auto was mangled. Eyewitnesses alerted the police, who retrieved the passengers and transported them to a local hospital. Initially, five people were declared dead, and three seriously injured were referred to PMCH. One of the injured succumbed to their wounds during treatment at PMCH, where the other two are currently receiving care. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem.
