A prayer meeting involving approximately 30 Christian families in Kapena village, Nabarangpur district, Odisha, was disrupted by villagers who allegedly threatened them to abandon their faith. The incident occurred on January 26th, amidst reported tensions between Christian and Hindu communities in the Umerkote police station area. Villagers reportedly used loudspeakers to demand that the Christian community cease their religious practices, threatening to destroy their prayer room and expel families from the Hindu-majority village. While no formal complaint has been filed, local police have deployed personnel to the area to maintain law and order, according to Inspector-in-Charge Ramakant Sai.
