A flight attendant from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, Pinky Mali, died alongside Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in Baramati. Mali had been working on chartered flights for five years and had spoken to her father shortly before the incident. Her death has cast a pall of grief over her ancestral village. Her father, Shivkumar Mali, a politician and former Delhi airport worker, had advised her to pursue a career in aviation over modeling. This was reportedly Pinky's fourth flight with Ajit Pawar. The family resides in Mumbai, with occasional visits to Jaunpur.
