Convicts in Rajasthan Murder Cases Marry, to Reside Together in Open Jail
Two individuals, Priya Seth and Hanuman Chaudhary, convicted in separate high-profile murder cases in Rajasthan, have married. Both are serving life sentences in an open jail in Jaipur and tied the knot secretly in Alwar during their parole. Prison regulations permit them to share separate quarters within the jail premises. The couple met while working at a private school, and their union has brought joy to their families. Following the marriage, they will be allocated a separate quarter within the jail complex, allowing them to live together as they begin their new life. Priya Seth, from Pali, and Hanuman Chaudhary, from Alwar, previously worked together at a private school in Jaipur, where their acquaintance developed into a relationship. Both are serving life sentences in Jaipur's open jail and often spent time together within the prison. Having been granted parole, Seth and Chaudhary recently married according to Hindu rituals at a hotel in Alwar, with the news gaining traction on social media. Their families have expressed consent. Open jails house inmates with satisfactory behavior, allowing them to live within the same compound, though in separate accommodations. Inmates can leave for work after morning attendance and must return by 7 PM for evening roll call. Traditional ceremonies were observed following the wedding, and celebrations have been reported in Chaudhary's village, though families are currently maintaining a low profile. Seth was convicted in the 2018 Jaipur Dushyant murder case, where she, along with her lover and an accomplice, murdered Dushyant Sharma and disposed of his body. All three were sentenced to life imprisonment in November 2023. Chaudhary was convicted for the murder of five members of the same family in Alwar in October 2017, receiving a life sentence along with other accused.
