A 24-year-old man died in Kumbhakot village of Ramganjmandi, Kota district, Rajasthan, after a power line fault caused a massive electrical surge in homes. The incident occurred during rainfall on Tuesday morning. The victim, Karan Dan, received severe burns to his hand and face and was pronounced dead at Ramganjmandi Hospital. Several other residents also experienced electric shocks. The electricity department is investigating the cause, with initial reports suggesting a loose earth connection at the local DP (Distribution Pillar) allowed high voltage to enter the low-tension lines. Authorities are also looking into allegations of unauthorized direct wiring in some homes within the affected settlement.
