Shopkeeper Dies From Fall After Firing Incident in Asansol, Police Investigate

A shopkeeper in Asansol, West Bengal, Mohammed Sarfuddin, died after being fired upon by two assailants on a motorcycle while he was going for dawn prayers. Although the bullets did not strike him, he fell out of fear, sustaining a severe nose injury that led to excessive bleeding and his subsequent death en route to the hospital. The incident occurred in Burnpur's Karim Dangal area under the Hirapur police station. Police recovered a pistol and a spent shell casing from the scene. Authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death and are examining CCTV footage, investigating potential motives such as personal vendetta, business disputes, or other conspiracies. Sarfuddin's family denies any prior conflicts or enmities, describing him as a peaceful individual.
