Security Forces Engage Naxals in Saranda Forest, Multiple Casualties Reported
Security forces have engaged Naxals in Jharkhand's Saranda forest, specifically in the Kumdi area between Kiriburu and Chhotanagra police station limits. Reports indicate that 16 Naxals, including a wanted insurgent, were killed in the fierce encounter. The Kolhan DIG confirmed the operation, stating that details of the casualties are being gathered. The deceased include Central Committee member Anal Da. Several Naxal bodies have been recovered. Units from Cobra and CRPF battalions participated in the offensive, which is part of a nationwide effort to eradicate Naxalism by 2026.
