Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for a two-day visit to West Bengal and Assam, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects exceeding 11,000 crore rupees. In West Bengal, he will virtually flag off the nation's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train from Malda, connecting Howrah and Guwahati. He will also lay the foundation for rail and road projects worth over 3,250 crore rupees, including four major railway initiatives like a new rail line between Balurghat and Hili, and the launch of four new Amrit Bharat Express trains. On the second day, PM Modi will visit Assam to perform the 'Bhoomi Pujan' for the over 6,950 crore rupee Kaziranga Elevated Corridor project in Kaliabor and flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains. The visit also includes the inauguration and foundation stone laying for various development projects worth over 830 crore rupees in Singur, West Bengal, an expanded port gate system in Balagarh, and three additional Amrit Bharat Express trains from Kolkata. A cultural performance by over 10,000 Bodo tribal youth showcasing their heritage will take place in Guwahati during his visit.
