India and UAE Forge Strategic Partnerships Across Defense, Energy, and Space
India and the United Arab Emirates have signed significant agreements in New Delhi, bolstering strategic cooperation in defense, space, energy, and food security. The UAE is now a major energy and strategic partner for India, agreeing to supply 0.5 million metric tons of LNG annually, making it India's second-largest LNG supplier. Both nations committed to a framework agreement for strategic defense partnership and signed a letter of intent for cooperation in space infrastructure development, including satellite manufacturing. The UAE will also invest in Gujarat's Dholera Special Investment Region and explore establishing data centers and supercomputing clusters in India, with artificial intelligence identified as a priority area. The leaders strongly condemned cross-border terrorism and agreed to explore 'Data Embassy' establishment. Discussions also covered civil nuclear energy cooperation and fostering regional peace and prosperity. A 'House of India' will be established in Abu Dhabi to showcase shared heritage.
