The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and snowfall across Kullu, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Lahaul-Spiti districts in Himachal Pradesh. As a precautionary measure, educational institutions in the Manali and Banjar sub-divisions of Kullu have been closed for Tuesday. Yellow alerts have also been issued for Shimla, Solan, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Una districts, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds up to 60 kmph, and persistent cold wave conditions. Light snowfall and rain were reported in some areas on Monday, with Tabo village in Lahaul-Spiti recording the state's lowest temperature at minus 10.2 degrees Celsius.
