Two individuals have been apprehended in Gurugram for the kidnapping and assault of a delivery boy, reportedly to recover Rs 6.50 lakh. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, saw the victim forced into a car. Responding to information, the police's EVR team pursued the vehicle and safely rescued the victim. Both suspects have been presented in court for further legal proceedings. The motive behind the abduction was to extort money stolen by the victim in 2024. Police also recovered the car used in the kidnapping and a wooden stick. The victim, a delivery boy from Bhiwani working in Gurugram, was intercepted by two cars while returning from a delivery. The assailants attacked him with sticks, threatened his life, and abducted him. A passerby alerted the police, leading to a chase and the apprehension of the perpetrators. During interrogation, one of the accused revealed that the victim, his acquaintance, had stolen Rs 6.50 lakh from his car, which was the proceeds from a truck sale. The accused stated they planned the abduction to recover the money after repeated demands went unanswered. The police are continuing their investigation.
