Four Newly Elected Corporators from Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena Missing in Kalyan-Dombivli After Election Results
Following the results of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation elections, four newly elected corporators from Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena faction have reportedly gone missing. The party has put up posters in various areas of the city to locate corporators Madhur Mhatre, Kirti Dhone, Rahul Kot, and Swapnali Kene. The missing corporators' phones are reportedly switched off, and their whereabouts remain unknown. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has expressed concern over their absence, especially in the context of the tight race for the Mayor's post, where 62 seats are needed. The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is rumored to be attempting to sway these corporators. The BJP secured 51 seats and the Shinde faction won 52 in the 122-member corporation, falling short of the majority. While Madhur Mhatre's father stated his son is in contact with the family but cannot disclose his location, denying any alliance with the Shinde group, other corporators' families also have no information about their current whereabouts. Shiv Sena (UBT) Kalyan city president Bala Parab indicated that some corporators might be out for unspecified reasons but assured their presence when needed, warning of disqualification if they join the Shinde faction.
