Electrocution Kills Man in Rajasthan's Kota District Amidst Faulty Power Line Incident
A 24-year-old man, Karan Dan, was fatally electrocuted in Ramganjmandi, Kota district, Rajasthan, after a fault in the local power line reportedly caused current to spread into homes during rain. The incident, which occurred Tuesday morning, resulted in severe burns to the victim. Local authorities initially pointed to loose earthing in a small distribution transformer (T-DP) as the cause. However, a Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) official later suggested that illegal direct connections in some affected houses and a potential fault transferring 11 KV current to the low-tension line might have contributed. Karan Dan, who was the only son in his family and was due to be married this April, had recently returned home for a short visit. His death has prompted an investigation by the electricity department to ascertain the precise cause of the electrical fault.
