Diwali Tripathi's BJP Induction Postponed Due to Security Threat

The planned induction of Dipti Tripathi, wife of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Chairman Manoj Tripathi, into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been postponed. The decision was made following intelligence input suggesting a potential threat to her life. Haryana BJP cited security reasons for the postponement, stating that a new date will be announced soon. Tripathi, accompanied by around 1,000 supporters, was at the party office to formally join the BJP on Wednesday. However, authorities and party leadership decided to cancel the event due to a large crowd and insufficient security, after intelligence agencies warned of possible threats from extremist or criminal elements. The postponement comes amid a context where Tripathi's political entry was considered significant due to her husband's position. She expressed her long-standing involvement in social work and her desire to serve people on a larger scale through politics, clarifying that her joining the party would happen formally soon and lamenting the politicization of the event.
