She allegedly drugged her husband, mother-in-law, and other family members. Alert neighbors noticed suspicious activity and a waiting vehicle, leading them to apprehend the bride, her mother, and brother. The bride's uncle managed to escape. CCTV footage captured the bride attempting to flee with the valuables. Police have taken the arrested individuals into custody and are investigating, with preliminary findings suggesting the bride was previously married and hatched the plan with her family. The middlewoman who arranged the marriage, reportedly for ₹1.5 lakh, is currently at large.
