BJP Postpones Deepti Tripathi's Induction Citing Security Threats

The formal induction of Deepti Tripathi, wife of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Chairman Manoj Tripathi, into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was postponed on Wednesday. The decision, made by the Haryana BJP and administration, followed intelligence inputs indicating a potential threat to her life from extremist or criminal elements during the event. Tripathi had arrived at the party office with around 1,000 supporters, but concerns over security arrangements for the large gathering led to the deferral. A new date will be announced after further security assessments. While Tripathi met the Haryana Chief Minister, she did not participate in the formal ceremony. Her political entry is considered significant due to her husband's role in the central government-affiliated BBMB, which manages critical water and power resources for northern Indian states. Tripathi expressed her commitment to public service and stated she would formally join the BJP soon.
