Rare Himalayan Red Fox Sighted in Himachal Pradesh's Parashar Region

A rare Himalayan Red Fox has been photographed by wildlife photographer Suraj Bhatia in the Parashar region of Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district. The fox was observed resting on a hilltop, basking in the sun, a sight that points to the area's rich wildlife heritage and a healthy ecosystem. While these red foxes are typically found in more remote, higher-altitude regions such as Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur, their presence in Parashar suggests the availability of sufficient food and safe shelter. The species plays a crucial role in maintaining environmental balance by controlling rodent populations. Following this significant sighting, an appeal has been made to tourists visiting Parashar to refrain from disturbing wildlife or littering, thereby ensuring the preservation of this sensitive natural habitat.
