Land for Job Scam Trial to Commence March 9 in Rouse Avenue Court

The trial in the "Land for Job" scam, which alleges land was illicitly acquired in exchange for railway jobs during Lalu Prasad Yadav's tenure as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009, is scheduled to commence on March 9 in Rouse Avenue Court. The case implicates several members of the Lalu family, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, Misa Bharti, and Hema Yadav. Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav recently appeared before the court, denying the charges and opting to face trial. While 52 individuals have been acquitted, the court previously found prima facie evidence against 41 accused. Formal charges against Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav are pending, as they have been permitted to make personal appearances between February 1 and 25 upon prior notification.
