Elderly Woman Dies in Pune Hit-and-Run While Morning Walking
A 73-year-old woman, Asha Patil, died after being struck by a speeding four-wheeler in a hit-and-run incident while on her morning walk in Pune's Pashan area on Sunday. The accident occurred near the NCL Institute on Pashan Road, where the vehicle hit her from behind. Patil sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The driver immediately fled the scene. Police have registered a case under BNS Section 106(1) and are actively searching for the culprit, though limited CCTV camera coverage in the protected Pashan Road area is complicating efforts to identify the driver.
