11-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Dies by Suicide in Punjab Village After Father Refuses Kite String Money
A tragic incident unfolded in Panchhat village, Phagwara, where an 11-year-old boy reportedly died by suicide. Police stated the child became upset after his father refused to buy him 'manjha' (kite string) for flying kites. The incident occurred while the family was preparing to celebrate the elder son's birthday. The boy allegedly hanged himself at home. Preliminary investigations suggest the child asked his father for money to buy kite string, but his father advised him to focus on his studies. Distressed by this, the boy reportedly took his own life. The family discovered the boy and rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead. Police have taken possession of the body for post-mortem examination, and the village is in mourning.
